I’m a Seattle-based writer working on a series of speculative fiction novels and short stories with climate change themes under the title Tales From A Warming Planet.
I’ve published several non-fiction books, including The Fyddeye Guide to America’s Maritime History, The Fyddeye Guide to America’s Lighthouses, Shipbuilders, Sea Captains, and Fishermen: The Story of the Schooner Wawona, Blowing Out the Stink: Life on a Lumber and Cod Schooner, 1897-1947, and three books on streaming media. I’ve been published in numerous magazines, including Seattle magazine, Seattle Business, and the in-flight magazines of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Airlines.
I’ve also written a historical novel for young adults, Bet: Stowaway Daughter. These days, I’m focusing more on genre fiction, particularly science fiction and epic fantasy.
My background includes more than 10 years in the news business, including newspapers and public radio. I’ve also worked in the internet software industry and I’ve owned my own web development company.
My household includes my wife, daughters and an elderly chicken.
