Step inside the world of Tales From a Warming Planet. My new BES website Is live!

The Bureau of Environmental Security website expands the universe of the climate fiction series, Tales From a Warming Planet. The site offers interactive content, such as briefings, quizzes, and blogs connected to the novels. The project encourages readers to expand their connections to the stories of life in a warming world.

I’ve been an indie author for nearly 20 years, and it there’s one thing I love doing for you, it’s building worlds. One of my favorites is the world behind Tales From a Warming Planet. Writing about the environmental conflicts, the near-future technologies, and especially the Bureau of Environmental Security, the supra-national agency at the heart of the series, is a joy.

Today, I’m thrilled to share something I’ve been building quietly behind the scenes. It’s a website for the BES.

This site is a full, immersive extension of the Warming Planet universe. It’s a place where you can explore stories, dossiers, quizzes, and in-world artifacts that expand what you’ve read in the novels.

Whether you’ve followed the series from The Mother Earth Insurgency or discovered it with Carbon Run, I think you’ll find something here to enjoy.

What You’ll Find Inside the BES Website

I designed the site so readers can interact with the world as if you’ve stepped into a briefing room inside BES Headquarters. Here are a few highlights:

  • A classified intelligence briefing on Kapitan Gore, the infamous submarine captain with a taste for danger
  • A Global Alerts page tracking characters and events across the Warming Planet timeline
  • Interactive quizzes, including a climate-change challenge and the BES Field Qualifications Exam
  • A set of crisis tools that tie real-world environmental issues to fiction in the series
  • Blog-style updates written “inside the universe,” adding new layers to the existing lore
  • Exclusive BES Gear, including hats, patches, decals, and signed paperbacks of my books

Why I Built The BES Site

As an independent author, I’ve always relied on creative worldbuilding and direct connection with readers like you. But I wanted a digital home where the fiction could breathe, where the novels’ universe could spill over into something interactive, visual, and fun.

This is only the beginning.

I’ll be adding more dossiers, more character insights, more intelligence briefings, and (if you enjoy them) more quizzes and interactive experiences.

I may be the creator, but I want the BES to be part of your world, too.

How You Can Support the Project

If you’d like to help the BES site grow, here are a few meaningful ways:

  • Visit the website and explore
  • Subscribe for updates using the subscribe button on all pages
  • Take a quiz or exam; you’ll get a personalized certificate
  • Share the site with a friend who enjoys speculative fiction or climate thrillers
  • Check out the BES Gear section (your support here directly funds more creative work)

I’m So Grateful

This entire project grew from the support I’ve received from readers over the past two decades. Your emails, your reviews, and your enthusiasm for the stories keep me going. I hope this new website gives you fresh ways to explore the world, and maybe discover a few secrets along the way.
