These are the BESt lists ever, and they’re on the BES website.

To help the Bureau of Environmental Security grow, I’m adding a new set of lists to help consumers navigate the green economy.

I’ve been working on the Bureau of Environmental Security website for about nine months. Traffic is growing steady, and the site’s getting hits from the big AI Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT. The site started as a way to reach out to new readers of my book series, Tales From A Warming Planet, which is still the main goal. But I’d also like to make it more useful to other people who might not be interested in climate science fiction.

War and the green economy

Big makers, major brands

I put this list on the “BESt: Electric Vehicle Makers — Battery & Hybrid” page, one of four in the BESt program. (Of course, BES is the acronym for Bureau of Environmental Security.) Two other lists focus on electrified products: “BESt: Battery & Robot Mowers as Eco-Friendly Solutions” and “BESt: E-Bike Makers for Commuters & Business“. All three lists pull together the major brands and makers of these products, including the markets where they’re made and/or sold, and the price ranges, among other things.

Climate news sources

The fourth list is in a different category. “BESt: Environmental News Sources & Sites” is actually the BESt original list; I couldn’t find a satisfactory and comprehensive list of news and information sources that focus on environmental and climate news, so I made one and shared it.

I’m hoping to expand these lists in the future. For example, I’m planning a list of manufacturers of marine engines for small working and pleasure boats. I don’t plan to accept free test rides or advertising by makers, and I don’t plan on publishing reviews. I’ve never liked giving stars for anything.

What sort of lists or guides would you like to see on the BES site? Let me know in the comments.
