The author of the Tales From a Warming Planet climate fiction series has re-published the four books on non-Amazon platforms for widest possible distribution.
Sometimes, what goes around, comes around, and back again. I’ve re-released my four-part series, Tales From a Warming Planet, on all non-Amazon ebook platforms after an extended hiatus. The platforms include Kobo, Apple Books, Smashwords, and nearly a dozen others. The books are also available on library platforms, such as Libby.

When I originally published The Mother Earth Insurgency, Carbon Run, City of Ice and Dreams, and Restoration, I included all of these platforms, accessed via Draft2Digital. This is known in the self-publishing world as “going wide.” Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited subscription platform was just getting started, and I had high hopes. KU requires exclusivity, which means I had to take the books off non-Amazon platforms, which make up about a third of the ebook market. Over the years, however, it’s clear that the romance genre has dominated KU, leaving little room for sub-genres, such as climate fiction. It’s time to move on.
